About this story

The Nephew's Rebellion is all but won. Toli Ludder and his Fang have chased the rebel baron to ground, and a weary kingdom dares to hope for peace at last.

But peace is not what waits in Arshen. Beneath the victory, holy relics are stolen and a priest lies murdered, and behind the throne an old and hungry god is gathering power, his followers turning on the faithful of every other god, converting by fear and by force. As a priestess of the light is drawn into the royal household, and a soldier begins to see the rot beneath the crown, the first move is made in a war the gods themselves may not survive.
