About this story

High in the mountain valleys, far from the wars of kings, a boy named Cosi climbs the cliffs for healing flowers — and comes home with a marsh elf girl and the notice of something very old.

Down in the lowlands, the followers of a hungry god are turning on all who will not kneel, and the faithful of the old gods are fleeing for their lives. When that persecution reaches the valley, it falls to Cosi to lead a band of frightened worshippers to safety through the high country — and somewhere on that hard road, watched over by a small green fox-god, the boy begins to wake to a power he does not understand.

A tender, eerie tale of faith, flight, and the first stirring of something the world has waited a long time to see.
