The Forest's Fury

Winter has come to Dragantwood, and the forest is angry.

A year after Thorn laid the old horrors to rest, a colder darkness settles over Maiden's Brook. The Duke is carving the ancient woods into profit and its pilgrims into custom; the marsh elves are worked like cattle; and in the temple's shadow, a cleric's experiments have shattered the old balance between men and the Sa'cura. The dagma trees remember every wound, and the forest is beginning to answer.

When Dax, restless, grieving, never quite belonging anywhere, steps through a tree into the realm beneath the bark, she finds something that feels more like home than home ever did. Thorn will tear the forest apart to bring her back. But he is not the only one hunting for her, and the man who loves her most may be the most dangerous of all.

As the Crown's soldiers march in and the snow deepens, everyone is certain they are the hero of this story. The forest knows better. And its patience has finally run out.
